Throughout the Bible, God communicates to those who believe in Him, exactly who they are and who He is. He describes the relationship as that of Creator and created, God and people, Father and children, and Bridegroom and Bride. As believers in Jesus, our identity is both that of Sons of God and the Bride of Christ.

The bridal paradigm was a common understanding back in Jesus’ days on Earth. It was common through much of church history. And now, God is restoring this understanding to the church today.

“For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.”
2 Corinthians 10:3-5

There is a battle raging, thought we don’t see it with our natural eyes. It’s a battle between love and hate, selflessness and selfishness, simplicity and materialism, righteousness and corruption, humility and pride, meekness and ruthlessness, goodness and darkness. As ones who are called by Christ to live like Him, we wage war daily on the principles of this world and live out the principles of the Kingdom of God and the Truth of Jesus. Sometimes we stumble, but we get back up and press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of us (Philippians 3:12).

I encourage your comments and thoughts as we learn about living a life going after hard after God, and serving Him in the ministry of intercession and prayer. It truly is an amazing journey.
